Description:
T1 Ash, cut to ground, tree has poor form, tight lower union and overextended lateral branches, squirrel damage to upper sides of these branches is causing failure of lateral branches. Trees crown is over rear garden of residential property and most recent failure has been on to property within the rear garden. This is the second incidence of failure within the last two years, the previous failure in to the car park area also under the tree, damaging property. I do not consider remedial pruning of a tree of this species and size to reduce risk of failure would produce a sound or aesthetically pleasing result. Photos of failed branch attached with section of deadwood within break area. I propose tree should be replaced with Cherry or Magnolia to reflect other planting on the estate and enhance the aesthetic of trees within this area.

Description:
T1 Ash, cut to ground. Tree has weak union on East side at 4m, tree has previously been pruned to counter this weakness but the split at the union has been observed to open up under wind loading even after weight reduction on the loading limbs and leader. Replacement with another tree is deemed to be more suitable than any more drastic pruning.
