Description:
1 holly tree. Location is the extreme south-east corner of the property. Fell because it has been strangled by ivy, has many dead limbs, its dense dark crown is impeding an adjacent tree and it has low amenity value. It was ringed to kill the ivy, but a year on it is unlikely the tree will recovery as the canopy is choked with dead ivy, which cannot be removed given the height of the tree (7.5m). I intend to replant a deciduous tree (one smaller hawthorn or birch), but this can only be decided once the holly has been removed as there are quite a few adjacent trees that might benefit most if the holly is simply removed.Section of laurel hedge. Location is along northern boundary of the property starting at the edge of the road. Over the years the hedge has shifted to the south and is encroaching on the drive. A few meters back from the road boundary, a section of hedge is dying back because of competition with a large nearby tree. The removed section will be replaced by smaller plantings such as clematis, roses and perennial flowers.
