NOTIFICATION TO REMOVE A DISEASED TREERed Oak: fell,as tree has Ganoderma adspersum. Two other issues also appear to be affecting the tree. Firstly the root plate of the tree appears to have lifted in the not too distant past although it now appears that the soil structure has been re-established to some extent. Secondly, the tree may have also suffered a lightning strike in the past, this has killed the bark and therefore the protection that the bark offers and allowed decay to inter. It would appear therefore that the tree is being decayed in several directions and this situation is not recoverable.
