- Description:
- G1 - Plum and Elderberries, along the back boundary overhanging the orchard, growing out from the hedge. These are going to cast shadow over these trees and make the grow mishappenly. I would recommend that the overhanging branches within the hedge line be cut back to approximately 2-3ft the other side of the boundary, to remove the overshadowing. G2 - Ash - Group of Ash trees situated closer to the wood shed, starting with the first group. One of the back stems has a large area of decay at approximately 3ft from ground level. There is a considerable amount of storm damage on other stems. Recommendations for this group would be to thin the crowns by 30% to lessen weight and wind resistance, removing any dead material together with storm damaged branches and the epicormic growth, and dead Ivy from the trunks. G3 - Group of Ash next in line. These again are to be thinned by 30%, the dead and diseased wood is to be removed. Branches towards the woodshed are to be shortened back by approximately one third, to remove the overhang from the building. T4 - Thorn. This has blown over and is leaning out over the fence. This is top be cut back to approximately 2-3ft the other side of the fence. G5 - A group of Ash next in line, these are to be thinned by 30% and the dead and diseased wood is to be removed, shortening back any branches towards the woodshed.
