The tree is at the bottom of our garden. We have one large overhanging branch the tree looks very lob sided as well, as at some stage somebody must have trimmed the other side. The trimming will equal the tree out and ensure future growth in the correct area.I have attached a photo showing the branch that overhangs the fence.
