Description:
I am seeking permission to thin out of 4 of the 5 trees at the bottom of my garden, 5 Herbert Close (3 Beeches and 1 Hornbeam marked 1, 2, 3 & 5 on Plan 2 Detail) as part of general good tree maintenance. The trees are in very close proximity to each other with branches rubbing, and in places extreme foliage density blocking all light. There is some dead wood to clear and one of the trees (Hornbeam marked 5 on plan 2) has some branches spreading disproportionately in one direction over the garden towards the house causing a danger from constantly falling branches in the mid area of the garden, these need to be cut back. A small number of branches of the beech trees (marked 1, 2 & 3 on the plan 2 detail) are overhanging an adjoining road (Pen-Y-Pound) and are becoming entangled with telephone/electric cables running along Pen-Y-Pound these branches need to be cut back from the cables. I have been advised by our tree surgeon that permission to thin up to a maximum of 25% per tree would give the flexibility needed to use their initiative whilst carrying out the work. Clearing branches from the telephone/Electric cables running along Pen-Y-Pound would come within this 25%. The works will not effect the height of the trees.
