Address:
39 Melvyn Crescent Porthill Newcastle Under Lyme Staffordshire
Description:
Request for permission to carry out pruning work to Lime tree on land adjacent (South East side) of rear garden fence of 39, Melvyn Crescent. Proposed work is: Raise crown to 20ft above ground, over garden, then all around to balance crown. Remove all epicormic shoots below this level, including at base of trunk. Also remove epicormic shoots as high up in crown as is feasible with respect to both time available and climber safety. Reason for work: Epicormic removal is part of good routine maintenance, in particular around trunk base to allow inspection for any problems developing; the area between the two lower subdivisions of the main trunk is full of unsightly epicormics. The reason for crown raising is to allow more light into the garden, and epicormic removal higher in the crown is to allow more light through, and improve aesthetics of the tree.
