- Description:
- The trees are situated at the rear of 8 Wheat Lane and lie out side the boundary on the banked area that runs along side the canal and tow path. The tree is property of 1 Wheat Lane.T1 and T2 are both Prunus avium, cherry trees. They are tall and mature specimens very heavily clad in ivy. Little of the trees crowns are visible now as the ivy is out competing them.I suspect that T1 has a dual stem, however, it may be 2 individual trees. Due to the tree being so consumed by ivy it is currently hard to tell. As for T2 it is in ill health and has an excessive lean toward and over the garage of 8 Wheat lane. The base of this tree is extremely rotten and breaks away easily by hand. Due to severity of the basal rot in T2 and the amount of ivy that has taken over T 1 and T2, along with the poor health and form of these trees I can only recommend that the trees are removed completely. This would be in the best interests of the property owners and the public safety.Contact between 8 Wheat Lane amd 1 Wheat Lane have begun and the intention is to ask there permission to re replant a hedge or 2 replacement trees, with only native species to be selected.
