- Description:
- Please note that 2 Upper Tooting Park is a family home and NOT 2 flats. The first part of the proposal is to replace the current wooden rear-garden fence with a brick wall of the same height (6ft). Erect a continuation of the wall (6ft), including a wooden sliding gate (6ft) for the car entrance, on the side of the house which borders St James' Drive. The brickwork to match the existing style of the house (same type of bricks), double brick thickness, topped with black wooden trellis laid horizontally. The wooden gate (car entrance) will be a sliding gate where the existing opening to St James drive is currently on the property, as well as the kerb drop that leads to it. The purpose of the wall would be to provide privacy to our family home from a busy road and noise reduction, as the house if located on an intersection. We also have a serious litter problem caused by passers by on St. James drive throwing beer cans, crisp packets and other items into our garden on the side that borders St James drive and the side that we are proposing to build the wall and have the wooden gate. We chose the height of 6ft because that is in line with a number of similar walls of other houses on St James' Drive and Trinity Road. We would like our children to benefit from a larger garden and the wall will serve as a protection from the road. The second part of the proposal is to change the location of the front garden entrance gate from the corner of St James' Drive and Upper Tooting Park to the side of the house directly on Upper Tooting Park. The current location of the entrance gate causes confusion to the public about whether the property is on St James Drive or on Upper Tooting Park.
