Address:
21 THE KEEP, BLACKHEATH, LONDON
Description:
Wisteria (T1) suspended by wires from the front of 21 The Keep is causing structural damage. Damage photos 1 and 2 show a gap opening up between a window frame and the outer wall caused by the tree's weight. Damage photo 3 shows the slippage of one of the concrete support pillars between numbers 19 and 21 The Keep, again caused by the weight of the tree on the houses. A branch of wisteria T1 at 21 The Keep was formerly suspended from 19 The Keep but has fallen onto the porch roof of that house. It is proposed to remove the branch leading to 19 The Keep and reduce the crown of the wisteria to a height of six feet in order to relieve the structural stresses on the houses. The proposed work has the consent of the owner of 19 The Keep. It is anticipated that the new growth of wisteria T1 will not subject 21 The Keep to further damage.
