- Lime tree T1 in garden of 3 Church Way INT ID 6102...I would advocate a reduction of the crown volume by approximately 30% which roughly equates to a 12% lateral reduction. At the same time I would advocate removal of all major deadwood (over 2.5" diameter) and a crown clean and light thin to remove crossing and rubbing branches and to reduce the overall crown density by about 10-15%. I would suggest the reduction and crown thin is slightly more focused on the roadside quadrant to address the crown asymmetry. All pruning should be target pruning to significant growth points of at least 1/3 the diameter of the branch being pruned. Where there is multiple epicormic growth from past pruning this should be thinned out as appropriate.
