Description:
Please Note: I have received an email from John Cooney, the planning officer at Hounslow Council on 21st March 2018 (see documents attached) confirming no trees within 37 St. Christopher's Close TW7 4NP are subject to a TPO. However, as the property is within Spring Grove Conservation Area, I am required to notify the Council of any works I wish to undertake to trees within my property. I have a huge Yew tree in my back garden. It is overgrown and is 'blocking' the light in the back garden which is affecting my mood and hindering me from accessing the back garden, therefore providing low amenity value. It has become unmanageable due to its size. It affects my health, my breathing so I am compelled to avoid entering the garden most times.I am also aware that the red berries that the yew tree has are toxic for kids and that would be another reason. The yew tree is surrounded by other trees in the vicinity and therefore the area is almost cluttered by trees. Its size may affect the growth of other trees too due to the issue of excess shading. The tree in question is in my back garden (see attached sketch plan and pictures) and can be accessed by the side entrance. I am requesting that my whole yew tree (in its entirety) to be completely removed . I have spoken to a tree surgeon that said that this may be possible with these types of trees as yew trees do not have TPOs on them. It will reduce the problem of cluttering and low amenity value and will increase the light in the garden and will 'free up' more space. The speed of its growth causes it to be unmanageable and stressful and unaffordable too. Since there is no preservation order on it I trust this should be agreeable. I am making this application in respect of that.
