Description:
T10 Lime (in center of back garden - Tx on the plan) - Fell. Reason: This tree is in poor condition and is likely to become unsafe in the very near future. Previous pollard work back to the crown break has resulted in large cavities forming below the main canopy, and therefore considerable weight is supported on minimal holding wood around the cavities. After climbing to inspect the tree the two largest cavities have less than 30% holding wood. Post previous pollard work the other surrounding trees have overcrowded the area the result of which makes a re-pollard or replacement of the tree unsuitable due to poor light conditions as a result of the overcrowding. The owner wishes to Fell rather than re-pollard to allow the surrounding trees to mature in increased space.

T1 - Horse Chestnut - Fell - Poor specimen in decline. Large cavity 2m from base with no holding wood on windward side, approx T2 - Common lime - Pollard/re-trenchment. Top of canopy previously has snapped out, larger tertiary limbs all have decay. Reduce height by approx 4m (to sound wood), reduce side limbs TO 1.5m from trunk to sound wood. T3 - Common lime - Pollard/re-trenchment. Top of canopy has previously snapped out (all three co-dominant stems). Evidence of serious decay in upper most 4m of main stems. Reduce height by 6-7m (depending on level of sound wood). Reduce side branches TO 1m from trunk, cut back epicormic growth on lowest dense section
