I would like to 'box in' the existing porch. There is an overhang over the front step and I would like to add a UPVC 'porch' to this so that the front door can be moved forward. The existing front door is very close to the stairs (previous owners added a loft conversion to this bungalow and the stairs are too close to the door) so entering and exiting, especially carrying anything, are actually quite awkward. At the moment, to come into the house you need to step backwards (into a bedroom) in order to close the front door, before you can walk into the rest of the hallway. I propose adding a porch in order to move the front door foorwards.
