- Address:
- 3 Sovereign Close Seaford East Sussex
- Description:
- A Poplar tree located south of Normansal Park Avenue and north of number 3 Sovereign Close has been examined on 2 occasions by aboriculturalists and found to be dangerous. The tree is 30-40 feet in height and roughly 4 foot above ground splits into 2 substanstial branches approximately 14-16 inches in diameter. The union where the braches split is showing extensive signs of decay and therefore found to be a weak union, having the potential to split causing extensive damage to the neighbouring property and injury/death to people in it and their garden. It is recommended that it is dismantled to 2 metres above ground level, with consideration given to planting a new tree in its place.A beech tree standing roughly 4 metres east in the same proximity has a branch which is currently growing over a nearby resident's garage, which is prefabricated in Asbestos, with an asbestos roof. In addition another branch on the same tree is being rubbed against by another, smaller branch from the same tree, causing weakness and adding to the concern about its proximity to the garage roof. In times of wind (nearly daily in Seaford) the branch moves, especially when in flower, against the garage roof. Remove lowest branch growing toward fence to prevent damage to garage. Remove small branch crossing and rubbing against large branch to prevent future damage and weakness to the branch, and possible infection.
